The strapless silhouette has a structured, slightly asymmetric neckline — one side slightly higher — that supports a placement of hand-applied 3D floral appliqués running diagonally from the upper left bodice down across the hip and dispersing as individual blooms into the skirt. The blooms themselves are sculptural: each petal formed independently, giving the appliqués a depth that reads differently at every distance. The rest of the gown is deliberately unadorned — a smooth, heavy satin or mikado skirt in a full A-line silhouette with a sweeping court train.
The contrast between the richly decorated bodice diagonal and the clean, unembellished skirt is the design's central statement. The fabric's natural luminosity does the structural work the absence of pattern would otherwise require.
