They sit wide at the shoulder and taper toward the elbow, creating a dramatic frame around the body that transforms the gown's profile entirely. Remove them, and the dress becomes a sleek, sculpted mermaid. Keep them, and the silhouette becomes something closer to sculpture. The sweetheart neckline remains constant across both configurations. The train is trimmed with the same feather and petal detail as the sleeves, grounding the two looks as a single, coherent design.
