The high-neck illusion collar in fine lace rises to the throat. Long fitted lace sleeves continue the coverage to the wrist. The bodice beneath is a structured, boned corset visible through the illusion lace — the architecture of the construction held inside a layer of delicate textile. At the natural waist, the lace bodice meets a wide satin sash or cummerbund-style waistband, creating a strong horizontal break before the skirt begins. The skirt opens in a heavy smooth satin — an A-line or ballgown silhouette — entirely clean and without embellishment, extending into a cathedral train.
The waistband is the gown's critical design element: it interrupts the expected vertical line of a lace bodice meeting a lace skirt and introduces instead a clean horizontal bar that separates and elevates both halves.
