Florence is a strapless mermaid in ivory. The bodice is the structural statement: radiating pleats fan outward from a central point at the chest — an origami-like construction that creates a relief surface of triangular folds, each fold pressed and pointing in a different direction. The effect is somewhere between a folded paper sculpture and an architectural facade. The pleating is white-on-white — the same ivory as the skirt — but the relief creates its own shadow and depth. Below the waist, the skirt releases into a full mermaid flare and a court train, the fabric smooth and without further embellishment.
The sleeves are a separate object: large, voluminous off-shoulder cuffs in the same pleated organza, each one a ruffled sculptural mass extending wide from the shoulder. They are fully detachable. With them, the gown's silhouette is architectural and expansive. Without them, it is a precise, clean mermaid with a sculptural bodice.
