Remi

Remi is a gown that holds two silhouettes within one construction — the mermaid and the dramatic — and moves between them with complete ease.

The off-the-shoulder bodice features a wide, structured drape or wrap element across the upper chest — a horizontal fold of satin that creates a dramatic horizontal emphasis before narrowing into the fitted mermaid torso below. Long sleeves in a sheer lace or embroidered fabric extend from the off-shoulder line to the wrist, their transparency contrasting with the solid satin of the bodice and skirt. The mermaid silhouette is clean and precise through the torso and thigh, flaring into a sweep train with a pooling hemline.

The combination of the structured bodice drape, the sheer lace sleeves and the clean satin column creates a gown with significant visual complexity achieved through relatively few elements — a design that earns its complexity through restraint of means.
