Barbara Kruger built her art from bold contrasts — monumental scale against intimate message, power against vulnerability. This gown operates on the same principle: sheer structure against voluminous texture, restraint at the bodice against abundance in the skirt.
An off-the-shoulder ballgown constructed on a structured corset bodice with visible boning lines through an illusion mesh base. Three-dimensional floral appliques — oversized petals and leaf forms — wrap the neckline, shoulders, and cascade asymmetrically across the full tulle skirt. The corset cuts a sharp, fitted silhouette to the natural waist before releasing into layers of tulle that pool into a generous train. A high front slit reveals the leg, adding movement and modernity.
The back features a lace-up corset closure, and the three-dimensional floral work continues across the full circumference of the skirt. Each flower is individually shaped and attached, creating sculptural dimension that catches light at different angles.
