Yolande

The off-shoulder mermaid is one of bridal fashion's most reliable silhouettes. Yolande uses it as a foundation for something more complex.

The base is a fitted mermaid in ivory — off-shoulder, with sheer long sleeves that extend from the shoulder line to the wrist and are covered in 3D floral appliqués. The flowers are ivory, individually formed, placed across the sleeves and continuing onto the bodice, building density from the sleeves inward. The skirt is also embroidered and appliquéd — a ground of all-over lace-like embroidery, with 3D flowers scattered across the hem and lower skirt in the same scale as those on the bodice. The court train continues the embroidered ground.

From the front: the off-shoulder line frames the collarbone and neck cleanly, the bodice dense with flowers, the skirt softening as it moves downward. From the back: the same embroidered sleeves cross behind, the back of the gown opening into a V that reveals the spine against the lace ground. The 3D flowers cluster at the back opening.

The overall effect is a gown in which every element — silhouette, sleeve, embroidery, train — is working together at the same level of attention.
